From: VAXB::SOCS166 "The Society called Aaardvark" 27-OCT-1992 18:36:12.33 To: VAXB::DAAB1CC: Subj: RE: What do you do ? _A Brief History of Aaardvark._ Aaardvark was a society set up last summer term by our esteemed president Stephen Brocklehurst, originally with the aim of producing a magazine to provide an outlet for surrealistic humor. As the term progressed and the SU proceeded to give us no money, we arranged several "amusing" (????????????) incidents to attempt to establish the name of the society for the forthcoming year. As this progressed, these events overtook the idea of the magazine in priority. Our current projects now include . . . 1) the production of a couple of pre-magazine handouts, and the eventual production of a full-length magazine by about week 7. 2) The organization of several more events, yet to be decided, to make peopel laugh and to publicise the socsiety. 3) Perhaps te production of a radio show in collabration with URY (still very spculative, but we're aquiring some materal at the moment) All in all, the socsiety is summarized by our aims defined in our (nearing completion) consitution . . . "to bring a smile to the face of the university.' Hope this helps to enlighten you.
